Lithuania has recorded no attempts by irregular migrants to cross from Belarus for the 14th day in a row, the State Border Guard Service (VSAT) reported on Friday, while Latvian authorities turned away 89 foreigners the previous day.

According to the agency, Polish border officials also reported no illegal crossings on Wednesday. The last recorded attempt in Lithuania occurred on May 7, when seven migrants were refused entry.

This year, Lithuanian authorities have blocked 724 irregular migrants from entering the country. In 2025, over 1,600 such attempts were registered, compared to 1,002 in 2024. Since the start of the Belarus-orchestrated migration crisis in 2021, more than 25,000 foreigners have been denied entry at Lithuania’s eastern border.

The surge of migrants toward EU member states via Belarus began in 2021, with Western officials accusing Minsk of deliberately engineering the crisis.
