Lithuanian activist Antanas Kandrotas suffers heart attack in Belarus, now in intensive care

A Vilnius court hearing for Lithuanian activist Antanas Kandrotas was postponed on Tuesday after his lawyer revealed Kandrotas had suffered a heart attack in Belarus and was in intensive care, LRT reports.

The Vilnius Regional Court had planned to review appeals from Kandrotas—known by the alias Celofanas—and co-defendant Andrejaus Lobovas, both convicted of inciting hatred and public order violations. Kandrotas was sentenced to one year in prison, while Lobovas received a six-month suspended sentence.

Lawyer Eriks Rugienius requested the postponement, citing his own illness and Kandrotas’s medical emergency. The court rescheduled the hearing to July 7.
