Lithuania to see summer-like warmth and heavy showers over the weekend

Lithuania will experience a mix of warmer temperatures and summer-like downpours this weekend, the country’s Hydrometeorological Service (LHMT) reported on Thursday.

Forecaster Edita Gečaitė told public broadcaster LRT that changeable weather will dominate, with scattered showers and thunderstorms expected across most regions on Saturday. Despite the rain, temperatures will climb to a high of 16–21°C in most areas, though western Lithuania will see slightly cooler conditions at 10–15°C. Overnight lows will range from 8–10°C.

Sunday will bring further instability as cumulonimbus clouds develop, leading to widespread showers and isolated thunderstorms. Nighttime temperatures will drop to 5–10°C, with patchy fog possible in some areas. Daytime highs will reach 12–17°C in the west and 18–23°C in eastern regions.

The unsettled pattern continues into early next week. Monday will start with less rain, but new moisture-laden clouds will arrive by daytime, bringing short-lived showers to many areas. Overnight lows will sit at 7–12°C, with highs of 18–23°C inland and 14–17°C along the coast.

Tuesday is expected to remain wet, with heavier rain possible in places. Temperatures will stay mild, dipping to 8–13°C at night and rising to 18–23°C during the day—cooler again near the Baltic Sea (14–17°C).
