Vilnius to host children’s festival highlighting emotional well-being for Child’s Day

A festival and a “March for Safe Childhood” will take place in Vilnius on Friday to mark Child’s Day, with events focused on raising awareness of emotional well-being and creating safe environments for children, LRT reports, citing BNS.

Organised by SOS Children’s Villages Lithuania, the initiative follows a year in which the organisation provided support to over 3,000 children and around 2,600 families. Its specialists delivered more than 109,000 consultations.

“For a child, the most important thing is to feel seen, heard, and safe. When they have a supportive community around them, they can grow bravely and build their future,” said Rasa Zaidovaitė, programme director at SOS Children’s Villages Lithuania.

The day’s events will also include the “March for Safe Childhood,” organised by the Office of the Ombudsperson for Children’s Rights at Vingis Park’s stage area. Participants—including the Lithuanian Police, Customs Department, Lithuanian Scouting, Save the Children Lithuania, Lithuanian Railways, and Via Lietuva—will offer routes of 1 to 5 kilometres, along with workshops, games, and educational activities.

Child’s Day is observed annually on the third Friday of May.
