Rosvaldas Gorbačiovas joins prime minister’s team to lead strategic communications

Rosvaldas Gorbačiovas, a former advisor to ex-Speaker of the Seimas Loreta Graužinienė, has joined Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė’s team to oversee strategic communications, the government announced Thursday.

Gorbačiovas brings experience from senior roles in corporate communications for major Lithuanian companies, as well as public sector positions. He previously served as communications chief for the State Food and Veterinary Service, led the Lithuanian Defence and Security Industry Association, and acted as government spokesperson under former Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius. His background also includes advisory roles for a former president and finance minister, along with work as a television editor and presenter.

His expertise spans strategic and crisis communications, public relations, and media, according to the statement. The appointment follows last week’s addition of Vydūnas Trapinskas, who will handle investment climate and competitiveness issues. Trapinskas previously led foreign talent development at Invest Lithuania and served on the board of Klaipėda’s economic development agency.

Earlier this month, news outlet Delfi reported Gorbačiovas’s expected move to Ruginienė’s team, noting his past work in the offices of former President Rolandas Paksas and ex-Finance Minister Rimantas Šadžius.
