A two-day international defence industry conference, Daimex Baltic 2026, opened in Vilnius on Tuesday, bringing together around 2,000 participants from 30 countries, reports BNS.

Politicians, military officials, defence technology specialists, and business leaders will discuss NATO’s eastern flank security, defence industry development, and investment in national defence. Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda will deliver the opening address.

On the second day, 130 companies from Australia, Belgium, Denmark, the Czech Republic, Italy, Spain, Israel, Japan, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, Canada, Cyprus, Poland, the Netherlands, Norway, South Korea, France, Slovakia, Finland, Sweden, Taiwan, Turkey, Ukraine, and Germany will showcase their products at the General Silvestras Žukauskas Training Ground in Pabrade.

The Lithuanian Defence and Security Industry Association, which organised the event, aims to foster new international partnerships in the defence sector. Association head Vaidas Sabaliauskas noted that Lithuania’s defence industry has strengthened significantly in recent years, reaching a level that allows it to host large-scale international events.
