Fraudsters speaking Lithuanian and Russian deceived a resident of Vilnius district, stealing €12,700 from her bank account, the Lithuanian Police Department reported on Wednesday.

The 65-year-old woman filed a complaint with the Vilnius County Chief Police Commissariat, stating that on April 29, unknown individuals called her at home in Vilnius district. Posing as employees of a telecommunications company, bank staff, and police officers, they manipulated her into revealing her payment card details.

The scammers then transferred the money from her account. A pre-trial investigation into the fraud has been launched.
