Lithuania will experience rain and cooler weather following a short period of warmth, the country’s Hydrometeorological Service announced on Tuesday, according to public broadcaster LRT.

Meteorologist Ineta Daunoravičiūtė told LRT Radio that a low-pressure system moving in from the southwest will bring a cold atmospheric front, shifting conditions by Tuesday afternoon. While morning skies will remain mostly clear, heavier rain clouds will develop later in the day, with scattered showers expected nationwide by evening. Southern regions may also see isolated thunderstorms.

Temperatures will vary significantly: most areas will reach 20–25°C, while western Lithuania sees 14–19°C. Coastal regions will stay cooler, with highs of just 10–13°C.

The unsettled weather will persist into Wednesday as the cyclone moves across the country. Overnight lows will drop to 5–10°C, with daytime highs of 12–17°C—though southeastern districts could still hit 20°C. Rain is forecast to intensify in many areas.

Similar conditions are expected on Thursday, with continued showers and temperatures ranging from 6–11°C overnight to 11–16°C during the day. Southeastern regions may again reach 19°C.
