Forest fire breaks out in Vilnius’ Antakalnis district

A forest fire erupted in the Antakalnis district of Vilnius on Monday evening, with firefighters responding to the scene, LRT.lt reports.

According to an officer from the Fire Protection and Rescue Department’s Situation Coordination Division, the blaze is located on Šilo Street. “For now, one area of forest floor is burning,” the official stated.

The fire follows a period of warm, dry weather in Lithuania.
