Cold start to the week with strong winds expected across Lithuania
The beginning of the week will bring chilly temperatures and disruptive winds, according to Lithuania’s Hydrometeorological Service forecast reported by **LRT**.
Meteorologist Janas Voitkevičius told **LRT Radio** that Monday will see overcast skies with occasional rain showers and sleet, particularly in northern regions. Wind speeds will reach 9–14 m/s, with gusts up to 20 m/s in exposed areas. Daytime highs will range from 7°C to 12°C.
Strong winds will persist into Tuesday, with scattered showers and nighttime frosts of 0°C to –5°C in some areas. Daytime temperatures will climb to 5–10°C, though gusts may still reach 16 m/s.
Midweek will remain cool, with highs not exceeding 11°C on Wednesday and Thursday. Warmer conditions are expected by Friday, with temperatures reaching up to 15°C in places, followed by further warming over the weekend.
