Lithuania is set for a windy weekend with rain, sleet, and overnight frosts, the country’s Hydrometeorological Service warned on Friday.

Meteorologist Simona Dalinkevičiūtė told national broadcaster LRT that an active cyclone moving in from the northwest will bring gusty winds, particularly in southern regions. While Saturday will remain mostly dry, sleet and frost are expected overnight into Sunday.

Scattered showers are forecast for Saturday, with winds reaching 15–20 m/s in many areas. Daytime highs will range from 7°C to 16°C, cooler in western districts. The cyclone will persist into Sunday, bringing intermittent rain and possible light snow. Winds will shift to the northwest at 15–20 m/s, with gusts up to 23 m/s in places. Temperatures will drop to 0–5°C overnight, with frost down to –6°C in some areas, and daytime highs of just 4–9°C.

Monday will see further scattered showers, with strong winds continuing. Overnight lows will again dip to 0–5°C, with frost possible, while daytime temperatures will reach 6–11°C. The cold snap is expected to extend into early next week, with lingering snow risks and brisk winds.
