Paramedic found dead in Lithuania after disappearance, three detained
A missing Lithuanian paramedic was found dead in Panevėžys district on Tuesday evening, with police detaining three individuals—including his former wife—in connection with the case, LRT.lt reports.
Mantas Sadauskas, a 31-year-old emergency medical technician, vanished Monday morning after leaving in a white Hyundai truck to deliver a trampoline to a kindergarten in Paliukai village. Authorities later determined no such kindergarten exists, suggesting the order may have been a setup.
The truck was located abandoned in a forest later that day, but Sadauskas was not inside. Police intensified searches around a suspicious homestead in Mileškūnai village, where his body was discovered buried on Tuesday evening. Investigators believe the killers attempted to dispose of the body by wrapping it in remnants of the trampoline he had been transporting.
Panevėžys District Prosecutor’s Office confirmed three detentions—two men and Sadauskas’ ex-wife—on suspicion of illegal detention, premeditated murder, and unlawful possession of firearms. Authorities cited personal conflicts as the likely motive. One of the detained men is reportedly the ex-wife’s current partner.
Charred remains of the trampoline were also found at the property, according to investigators. The case remains under active pre-trial investigation.
