Lithuania to see temperatures up to 16°C on Wednesday before steady cooling

Temperatures in Lithuania will reach up to 16°C in places on Wednesday before a gradual cooldown through the week, the country’s Hydrometeorological Service told public broadcaster LRT.

Forecaster Elena Klyukina said Wednesday will bring mostly clear skies with no rain. Northwesterly winds will strengthen to 8–13 m/s, with coastal areas seeing cooler conditions of 8–10°C while inland temperatures climb to 11–16°C.

Thursday will remain dry, but winds from the north-northwest will reach 9–14 m/s, gusting up to 16 m/s in places. Nighttime lows will drop to 1–6°C, with ground frost of 0–5°C in western regions. Daytime highs will fall to 9–14°C.

Light rain is expected in many areas on Friday, with northwesterly winds at 7–12 m/s. Overnight temperatures will range from 0–5°C, dipping below freezing in some locations, while daytime highs will reach 8–13°C.

The weekend will turn wetter, with rain forecast for both Saturday and Sunday. Temperatures will continue to decline, with Sunday marking the coldest day of the week at just 5–9°C.
