Lithuanian prime minister to visit Kaunas district, meet local officials

Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė will visit Kaunas district on Monday for a working trip, meeting with municipal leaders to discuss key infrastructure and development projects, the BNS news agency reports.

During the visit, Ruginienė will meet with the district’s administration to address the planned connection between the A1 and A6 highways, the development of Užliedžių eldership, and the expansion of the Žibutė sanatorium in Kačerginė, according to her spokesperson Ignas Dobrovolskas.

The prime minister’s schedule also includes a visit to Vytautas Magnus University’s Ugnė Karvelis Gymnasium, where she will attend a ceremonial groundbreaking for the Zapyškis ferry terminal building and a stationary ferry capsule. Later, Ruginienė will tour Raudondvaris Gymnasium and its stadium, visit the aquatics company Akvatera W (part of the Kika Group operating in Lithuania and Estonia), and inspect Giraitė’s Holy Family Church and its surrounding park.
