One person dies in Vilnius apartment fire
A person has died in a residential fire in Vilnius on Saturday evening, Lithuanian public broadcaster LRT reports.
The blaze broke out at approximately 7:26 p.m. in an apartment on Tyzenhauzų Street in the city’s Naujininkai district. Firefighters rescued two individuals from the burning unit, according to a representative of the Fire Protection and Rescue Department’s Operations Management Board.
One victim was transported to a medical facility, while the other was declared dead at the scene. Authorities have since extinguished the fire. The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
