The Lithuanian prime minister’s scheduled visit to Spain this weekend has been cancelled due to flight disruptions, her office announced on Friday.

Inga Ruginienė was set to travel to Barcelona from April 17–19 to attend the fourth Summit for Democracy, where she was to meet with Spanish prime minister Pedro Sánchez and Albanian prime minister Edi Rama, her adviser Ignas Dobrovolskas told the Baltic News Service (BNS).

Ruginienė had also planned to participate in the Global Progressive Mobilisation event. In late March, she stated that discussions with Sánchez would include Spain’s decision to close its airspace to US aircraft conducting missions against Iran.
