High-pressure system brings sunnier but cooler weather to Lithuania
A high-pressure system will bring drier and cooler conditions to Lithuania this weekend, with little rainfall expected and sunny spells breaking through, according to the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service.
Meteorologist Ineta Daunoravičiūtė told LRT that while Friday night may still see brief showers in eastern regions, Saturday will be largely dry. Northwesterly winds of moderate strength—6 to 11 m/s—will persist, with daytime temperatures climbing to 12–17°C. However, ground frost of 0 to –5°C is forecast in many areas overnight.
Sunday will remain rain-free, though winds will strengthen again. Skies will be partly cloudy with sunny intervals, and temperatures will reach 11–16°C. Frost may return in some locations, with lows of 1–6°C and ground frost down to –5°C.
The start of the new week will see little change, as the high-pressure system continues to dominate. Monday and Tuesday will stay dry, with north to northeasterly winds of 7–12 m/s. Nighttime temperatures will hover around 0–5°C, with ground frost possible, while daytime highs will range from 9–15°C. Sunny spells are expected to persist, with no significant rainfall forecast.
