Lithuanian border authorities prevented ten irregular migrants from entering the country from Belarus this week, the State Border Guard Service (VSAT) reported on Tuesday.

According to VSAT data, Latvian border guards intercepted 31 irregular migrants on Wednesday, while Polish officials recorded no such attempts on Tuesday. Since the start of this year, Lithuania has blocked 413 attempts by migrants to cross illegally from Belarus—already exceeding last year’s total of 1,002 recorded incidents. Over 1,600 attempts were made in 2025.

Since the migration crisis orchestrated by Belarus began in 2021, Lithuanian border guards have denied entry to nearly 25,000 individuals attempting to cross from Belarus. Western officials have accused Minsk of deliberately facilitating the influx.
