Fraudsters steal nearly €30,000 from community account in Kaunas

A sum of nearly €30,000 was stolen from a community bank account in Kaunas by unidentified fraudsters, Lithuanian police reported on Tuesday.

The Kaunas County Chief Police Commissariat received a report on Wednesday that €29,016.53 had been misappropriated from the account on either Tuesday or Wednesday, according to the Police Department. The exact timing is still being clarified.

An investigation into the fraud has been launched, though the method used to access the funds remains undetermined.
