Lithuanian warehouse fire in Vilnius possibly caused by lithium battery ignition

fire, lithium batteries, vilniusA large fire broke out in a warehouse in Vilnius on Wednesday afternoon, with preliminary reports suggesting lithium batteries may have ignited the blaze, according to Lithuania’s public broadcaster LRT.
The fire erupted in a two-storey brick building on Račių Street in the capital’s Vilkpėdė district, along Savanorių Avenue. Firefighters reported the blaze covered approximately 60 square metres inside a tool storage facility where batteries were kept.
Emergency response teams were deployed in large numbers to contain the fire. Authorities have not yet confirmed the exact cause, but initial findings point to a possible lithium battery malfunction.
