The director of Lithuania’s Infrastructure Management Agency, a body under the Ministry of National Defence, resigned on Tuesday for personal reasons, the Baltic News Service (BNS) reports.

Giedrius Vanagas, who led the agency, told BNS he had achieved his professional goals and was leaving of his own accord. “I am stepping down myself. I have fulfilled my objectives, and it is time to move on,” he said, adding that he was not immediately transitioning to another position.

Vanagas denied any political motivation behind his departure, stating that his work had proceeded without issues. “Everything was in order at the operational level. I never received any critical remarks,” he said.

The Infrastructure Management Agency oversees projects related to national defence infrastructure and the development of host-nation support systems.
