Lithuania will experience contrasting spring weather this week, with overnight frosts giving way to daytime highs of up to 18°C, according to a forecast by the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service reported by LRT.

Teresė Kaunienė, a meteorologist with the service, said the country will remain under the influence of a high-pressure system early in the week, bringing variable conditions. Nighttime temperatures will hover between 0°C and 5°C, with ground frost expected in many areas, reaching as low as -3°C. Days will warm to 12–17°C by Tuesday and 13–18°C by Wednesday, despite occasional showers.

A shift arrives Thursday as a low-pressure system moves in from the west, increasing cloud cover and rainfall. Nighttime temperatures will stay near 0–5°C, with ground frost persisting in places, while daytime highs drop slightly to 10–15°C. Coastal regions will be cooler, peaking at just 7–9°C.

By Friday, the system will weaken, reducing precipitation and bringing drier conditions. Winds will strengthen, shifting from southwest to northwest at 7–12 m/s. Frost will remain a nighttime risk, with temperatures dipping to -5°C on the ground in some areas. Weekend forecasts predict similar patterns, with daytime highs of 11–16°C inland and 8–10°C near the Baltic coast.
