Panevėžys police station evacuated after man brings in unexploded ordnance

evacuation, lithuania, unexploded ordnanceA man who found an explosive device while cleaning his cellar brought it to a police station in Panevėžys on Friday morning, prompting a partial evacuation, Lithuanian National Radio and Television (LRT) reports.
The 1987-born individual arrived at the Panevėžys District Police Commissariat and informed officers he had discovered the ordnance in his home cellar and was transporting it in his car, according to police. Authorities activated emergency protocol “Skydas” (Shield) and evacuated some migration service employees and civilians from the building.
The evacuation order was lifted at 11:15 AM after specialists assessed the situation. No injuries were reported.
