Lithuanian border guards prevented 14 irregular migrants from crossing from Belarus last week, the State Border Guard Service (VSAT) reported on Friday.

According to the agency, Latvian authorities turned back 108 migrants on Thursday, while Polish officials recorded no attempts on Wednesday. Since the start of this year, Lithuania has blocked 347 irregular border crossings from Belarus, compared to 1,600 attempts in 2025 and 1,002 in 2024.

Since the Belarus-orchestrated migration crisis began, Lithuanian border guards have denied entry to nearly 25,000 individuals attempting to cross illegally. The surge in irregular migration to EU member states via Belarus started in 2021, with Western officials accusing Minsk of deliberately facilitating the flows.
