Man killed in Palanga apartment, three suspects detained
A 42-year-old man was killed in an apartment in the Lithuanian coastal city of Palanga early Saturday, with police detaining three suspects—two of whom were heavily intoxicated—state news agency BNS reports.
The victim’s body was discovered just after midnight in a residential building on Druskininkų Street. Authorities arrested three men, aged between 37 and 54, in connection with the killing. Breathalyser tests showed two of the suspects had blood alcohol levels of 1.78 and 3.11 per mille, respectively.
Ramūnas Matonis, a police spokesperson, told BNS the fatal altercation occurred during a drinking session, though the exact cause of the conflict remains unclear. All three suspects are being held at Klaipėda County’s main police detention facility.
