Police officer and volunteer injured during arrest in Vilnius
A police officer and a police volunteer were injured during an arrest in Vilnius early Monday, according to Lithuania’s Police Department, as reported by public broadcaster LRT.
The incident occurred around 2 a.m. in Vėtrungių Street in the Fabijoniškės district. A 25-year-old man resisted arrest, assaulting a 35-year-old officer from the Vilnius County Chief Police Commissariat and a 19-year-old police volunteer.
Both victims received medical treatment and are recovering on an outpatient basis. The suspect has been detained, and a pre-trial investigation has been launched for resisting law enforcement.
