Lithuania to see unseasonably warm and dry weekend
Lithuania will experience spring-like warmth this weekend with no significant rainfall expected, according to the country’s hydrometeorological service.
The Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service (LHMT) forecasts mostly clear or lightly cloudy skies on Saturday, with temperatures dropping to between 0°C and 5°C overnight, meteorologist Tadas Kantautas told the state news agency ELTA. Fog may form in some areas, particularly in western regions, while winds will remain light and variable.
Daytime highs on Saturday will reach 11–16°C across most of the country, though coastal areas influenced by the cooling effect of the Baltic Sea and Curonian Lagoon will see slightly lower temperatures of 5–10°C. Skies will be partly cloudy with occasional sunshine and little chance of rain.
Sunday will bring similarly warm and dry conditions, with overnight lows ranging from -3°C in clearer areas to 2°C where clouds persist. Winds will be barely perceptible. Daytime temperatures will again climb to 11–16°C inland, while western regions near the sea will see highs of 6–10°C. Some coastal fog is possible in the evening.
Early next week, the weather will shift slightly as Lithuania falls between two cyclonic systems. Monday and Tuesday will bring thicker cloud cover with brief, light showers in places, along with patchy fog overnight. Temperatures will cool marginally, with daytime highs of 8–13°C on Monday and 9–14°C on Tuesday, though coastal areas will remain cooler at 6–8°C. Winds will pick up slightly from the north and northwest.
