Lithuanian troops deploy to NATO operation in Kosovo
A contingent of Lithuanian soldiers has been sent to Kosovo as part of a NATO-led international operation, the country’s defence ministry announced on Thursday, marking the second rotation of troops to the mission.
The deployment includes personnel from the Grand Duke Butigeidis Dragoons Battalion and other units of the Lithuanian Armed Forces, according to a report by public broadcaster LRT. Their role will involve maintaining regional security and reinforcing NATO’s collective defence framework in the Balkans.
The farewell ceremony for the troops took place at Klaipėda University Square before their departure.
