Lithuanian defence minister travels to Ukraine to accelerate technology deals and joint projects

defence cooperation, lithuania, UkraineLithuania’s defence minister Robertas Kaunas departed for Ukraine on Tuesday to push forward technology procurement and joint defence initiatives, including strengthening airspace monitoring and protection, LRT reports.
“Today I am travelling to Ukraine,” Kaunas told journalists at a government briefing. “The purpose of this visit is to accelerate both the acquisition of technologies and the launch of joint projects, as well as to enhance our airspace surveillance and defence capabilities.”
Plans for the trip were first announced in early March, with air defence and border security listed as key discussion topics. Kaunas last visited Ukraine in summer 2026.
