Two migrants turned away at Belarus-Lithuania border

The agency said Latvian border officials recorded no illegal crossings on Monday, while Polish authorities reported no attempts on Sunday.
Since the start of 2026, Lithuanian authorities have prevented 78 unauthorised entries. In 2025, more than 1,600 attempts were made to enter Lithuania illegally from Belarus, compared with just over 1,000 in 2024.
The surge in unauthorised migration into eastern EU states from Belarus began in 2021, with Western governments accusing the Minsk regime of orchestrating the influx.
