Weekend to bring dry and warm weather

Vilnius, Lithuania — The Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service forecasts dry and mostly sunny weather across the country this weekend, with temperatures rising above freezing during the day.

According to meteorologist Tadas Kantautas, an area of high pressure will strengthen over the Baltic region on Saturday night, bringing variable cloud cover. More clouds are expected in southern and eastern Lithuania, while western and northern areas should see clearer skies. No significant precipitation is anticipated, and winds will remain light and shifting in direction.

Overnight temperatures will range from -4°C to +1°C. During the day, skies will clear at times with no precipitation expected. Winds will remain light and variable, and daytime temperatures will reach 7–12°C inland, and 4–6°C on the Curonian Spit.

On Sunday, conditions will remain similar, with fewer clouds at night and more developing during the day. More sunshine is expected overall, and Sunday will be warmer than Saturday. Overnight temperatures will drop to 0–4°C in many areas, with isolated spots near +1°C. Daytime highs will reach 9–14°C inland, while coastal areas will see 6–8°C.

On Monday, the influence of the high-pressure system will begin to weaken, allowing thicker clouds to spread across the sky, though the chance of rain will remain low. Overnight temperatures will range from -2°C to +3°C, and daytime highs will again reach 9–14°C inland and 6–8°C along the coast.

On Tuesday night, a cold front will move across the country, bringing brief, light rain in some areas and moderate westerly winds. Daytime temperatures will fall to 7–12°C inland and 4–6°C on the coast.
